Live Green in Plano Programs Receive Regional Clean Air Nod

LGIP NTX clean Air award

Equipping Planoites with the tools to help conserve energy and improve air quality is important and our Live Green in Plano programs make a difference. Air North Texas recently recognized the Sustainability & Environmental Education (SEED) team with an Outstanding Initiative award for creating an in-depth educational webpage dedicated to air quality.

Plano is one of four Dallas-Fort Worth area cities recognized by Air North Texas for their use of outreach strategies to encourage individuals and employers to actively seek ways to bring the region into attainment of the federal government’s ozone standards. Promoting actions improve air quality, such as working from home, bicycling or walking to the store and packing a lunch.

The Live Green in Plano site is the primary online resource for sustainability content and includes information about air quality, alternative transportation, energy conservation, green building practices, renewable energy and more.

Air North Texas is a regional public awareness campaign that includes 38 area partners pursuing environmental awareness in North Texas. Protecting the planet in big and small ways is everybody’s responsibility. Save the date for Clean Air Action Day on Friday, June 7 – learn more here.

Sustainability & Environmental Education Supervisor Heather Harrington and SEED Intern Eve Gersh accepted the certificate on behalf of the City.
