More pickleball courts are in Plano’s future due to a new partnership between Parks and Recreation and Plano Sports Authority (PSA). This fast-paced racket sport (ironically played with a paddle, not a racket) will soon have six extra courts to satisfy the growing demand to show off one’s picklebility (passion, ability and addiction to pickleball).
Enough of a public demand prompted Plano City Council to approve a lease agreement change with PSA to allow adult public play hours at the 6500 Preston Meadow Drive location.
Once the pickleball courts are complete at the PSA 1 facility, all Plano recreation center members get free access to play during specific hours. Without a membership, players can volley to their hearts’ content for a nominal fee during designated hours and days.
The new Plano Sports Authority courts are available as of Monday, June 19. Keep checking PSAplano.org for when you can pick up a paddle and start dinking!
