VIP Says “THANK YOU” from the Adopt-an-Angel Program

Adopt Angel Building Inspections WEB

The holiday season was made brighter by the dedicated efforts of hundreds of staff who participated in Volunteers in Plano’s Adopt an Angel program.  2022 beneficiaries included Streetside Showers, Trusted World, Meals on Wheels of Collin County, The Assistance Center of Collin County and city employee families.

Through partnerships with these charitable groups, Team Plano donated 75 coats, supported six City employee families, fulfilled the holiday wish lists of 15 older adults, had a “Giving Tree” in Human Resources, and gave clothing, toys, bicycles and more to 19 families (reaching 87 individuals)!

The partnerships VIP maintains with the nonprofit community allows our reach to extend beyond our facilities. We are able to respond to their needs through these giving programs.

An employee who received support this year remarked, “We are blown away by the generosity and love. It’s been a hard year and this just means the world.” A Plano mom of three children said, “Thank you for everything, to the whole group, what surprises!”

This program has existed for 24 years because we have departments and employees who return year after year to assist those in need. Our dedicated employees build community within their work teams by shopping, delivering and coordinating these impactful donations. The Volunteers in Plano staff (Corina Sadler, Morgan Green-Griffin and Kristen Badowski) take great care in managing this annual program and are thrilled to see its continued success, thanks to all of you! Way to go, Team Plano!
