URISA Recognized Plano for Geospatial Program

GIS award

The Technology Solutions GIS team has been awarded the Distinguished System Award by the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA).  Earlier this year, GIS Analyst III Kristina Deitz submitted her team’s work on the Fire Electronic Tactical Response Guides Program (ETRG) and Plano earned distinction in URISA's Enterprise Systems category.

The honor comes for the ETRG Program Enterprise System developed for Plano Fire-Rescue. It is a complex project that involved several employees working over a few years. Deitz attended the GIS-Pro 2022 in Boise organized by URISA and was presented the Exemplary Systems in Government Distinguished System award. 

This exemplary achievement recognizes the effective application of geospatial technologies and data that result in improved delivery and quality of government services and increased benefits to citizens. The competition is open to all public agencies at the local, regional, state and federal levels.

Plano City Council will recognize the Technology Solutions team at the November 28 meeting.
