Open Enrollment Begins Soon. Opt-in to Receive Texts.

Text message to employees

Open Enrollment is October 7-21 and the City will use text messaging to communicate information. To receive these important messages, you need to update your personal contact information in PeopleSoft. You have until Friday, September 30 to get this done.

To ensure Human Resources (HR) is able to reach you, please verify your address and phone number are correct in our system and “opt-in” for text messaging. In PeopleSoft, go to Employee Self Service and click “Personal Details” to verify your address.

Under “Contact Details,” verify cell text messages allowed is selected. This gives HR permission to send you important notices relating to Open Enrollment and other benefit changes.

Opt in texting image 2BIf your cell phone number doesn’t appear (see image 2B), please add it by clicking the “+” symbol and entering the number.

Staying in touch with employees is very important to the City. Sharing news about health and wellness programs requires being able to contact you by email, U.S. Postal Service or text message. Good communication is how we make sure you get the most out of what Plano has to offer you.

Remember, Friday, September 30 is the deadline to opt-in to receive text messages from HR.

Contact any member of the Human Resources benefits team for further details at HRBenefits@plano.gov.
