The City’s Lead Environmental Education Coordinator Erin Hoffer has won the 2022 Sadie Ray Graff Educator Award. This Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB) “Beautify Texas Award” recognizes the efforts of those working to enhance their community and protect the Lone Star State.
Hoffer has over two decades of education experience and also serves as a State of Texas Master Composter and Collin County Master Gardener. During the pandemic, she helped the Sustainability and Environmental Education division shift Live Green in Plano programing online and incorporate micro-learning strategies to enhance educational efforts.
The Sadie Ray Graff Educator Award is one of 10 KTB categories and recognizes the efforts of educators that provide instruction/programming to Pre-K through college students to encourage youth involvement and promote the KTB mission through environmental education.
Erin Hoffer is incredibly deserving of this recognition. “We are proud to honor and recognize Texans who are making a difference in our state,” said Suzanne Kho, Executive Director of Keep Texas Beautiful. “Their actions do more than protect the environment: they inspire community members to get involved and help us keep Texas beautiful.”
Erin will be honored at the KTB Annual Conference in Austin from June 27 - 29.
