This course is part of the Essential Supervisory Skills Series. You should already be a supervisor before attending.
Goals for Performance Management will also be discussed.
Most people understand that you need to have goals to strive for, but many do not understand how to write goals that will allow them to reach the desired target. Too often, goals are vague, open-ended, unrealistic and not focused on the true personal and/or business objectives. This ambiguity leads to confusion, resource drains and misunderstanding, This course reinforces the importance of clear goals as it identifies the five key criteria for writing proper goals and explains how to monitor those goals. By following these steps, you will have a clear indication of when you have reached your targets.
After taking this class, you will be able to:
-Explain the five key criteria of well-written goals;
-Distinguish between well-written and poorly-written goals;
-Create personal goals which are linked to organizational objectives;
-Monitor your goals to completion.
