The annual Clear the Shelters event is Saturday, August 18 and it could just be the day you find your "perfect match." Best friends come in all shapes and sizes…long- and short-haired, spotted or sometimes with waggy tails and droopy ears. The Plano Animal Shelter hopes you’ll visit during Clear the Shelters (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) and support this drive to find new homes for pets who live in their facility.
On this one day, shelters across the country are working with NBC and Telemundo stations to find homes for needy pets. Adoption fees are being waived for this initiative. When you and your new friend chose each other, Plano Animal Shelter director Jamie Cantrell and staff make sure:
To beat the crowd, visit the shelter a few days before the big event and pick out your new dog, cat or other lovable creature on site. If you're hoping to find a new furry friend, the Plano Animal Services team also recommends you:
Plano's facility alone will present approximately 236 animals including many guinea pigs for you to get to know. Go online for more event details.
