Not to be confused with the electric slide dance, but you’ll need to read this in order to stay in step with Plano City Council next month. In July, the Council meeting dates shift a bit to allow for summer break. There will still be two meetings, as prescribed by law, but not on the usual dates. Join us in person or watch online on Monday, July 23 at 7 p.m. and Wednesday, July 25 at 5 p.m. at Plano Municipal Center – 1520 K Ave.At the July 25 meeting, City Manager Bruce Glasscock presents the 2018-19 Recommended Budget and Community Investment Program (CIP). The Tax Rate and the Financial Forecast as it relates to the General Fund and the Water and Sewer Fund is presented as well. These documents and a budget schedule are available on the City website shortly after the meeting. The budget and CIP are not official until City Council votes in September and it is effective from Oct. 1 through Sept. 30.Regular meetings (on the second and fourth Mondays at 7 p.m.) resume in August. As always, you can watch Council Meetings live on planotv.org; on television at Spectrum channel 16, Frontier FIOS channels 30 and 31, and AT&T U-verse channel 99 (choose Plano); or on the City's Facebook page.
