Plano’s invaluable support staff got the royal treatment from Senior Training Coordinator Tony Beasley and the Human Resources team. The April 26 affair was slightly different from programs in recent years, but nonetheless elegant and purposeful. Over 100 of the City’s finest were escorted into the Windhaven Room at the Plano Event Center for a scrumptious feast of food and accolades.
The admins were also greeted by City Manager Bruce Glasscock who conveyed heartfelt appreciation for every person who works above and beyond providing assistance internally and externally. He added, “Plano is the City of Excellence because each of you SERVES so well!”
There wasn’t a guest speaker this year to regale the admins with pearls of wisdom. Rather, Tony served as emcee briefly explaining that the theme of the Luncheon was “It’s All About SERVE-ice.” Thanking attendees for how well they build relationships – networking and bouncing ideas off of each other. He also recognized the newest members of the City’s administrative staff.
Craig Barnes, Human Resources strategic solutions manager, spoke to the team about the organization’s new SERVE (Stewardship Engaged Respectful Visionary Excellence) initiative and what it means. He also engaged the group in some entertaining ice-breakers.
Everyone left the luncheon with new City of Plano canvas folding chairs and the pleasure of having spent a relaxing afternoon enjoying good food and making new friends. Plano Event Center Chef Bismark Quintanilla was introduced and thanked for the terrific meal his crew prepared and the tremendous service received.
Here’s a photo diary of the event.
