Large Dog Area at Jack Carter Reopens in September

Jack Carter Dog park

A project to resolve some drainage issues in the large dog area of Jack Carter Dog Park (2215 Pleasant Valley Drive) is scheduled to be complete by August 18. The temporary fencing remains in place while the new grass grows a bit more. The wait may be inconvenient, but very necessary to the process of restoring the dog park to its beautiful lush pre-repair state.

Parks maintenance staff strives to ensure the dog park is properly tended to and is safe for pets and owners all year. Please do your part and take a moment to review the dog park rules before your next visit. Understanding the dos and don’ts will make each visit to Jack Carter Dog Park an enjoyable experience for humans and furry-folk alike.

The department hopes to reopen the closed off portion of the Park on September 1. Until then, the small dog park and a portion of the large dog park is still open during the repair work. Patrons are also asked to pack drinking water for themselves and their large four-legged friends to prevent them from mingling with their smaller counterparts for the duration of this project.

Stay tuned for more updates!
