Plano is the 2nd Most Chill-lax U.S. City

This is one of the few times being 149 out of 150 is a really good thing. WalletHub’s 2017 report on the "Most & Least Stressed Cities in America" is out and the City of Plano was named the second most mellow spot in the United States – missing the top honor by a tenth of a point.

In the midst of steady economic growth, Planoites have managed to maintain a “chilled” attitude and generally good coping abilities according to the report. Experts say “chronic stress can affect both health and productivity." Money, health/safety, work and relationships seem to top the list for common issues contributing to elevated stress. WalletHub painstakingly compiled over 30 data points (average work hours, commute time, divorce rate, income, job security, crime stats, percent of binge drinkers, hours of sleep to name a few).

Plano scored well for:

  • Highest job security – 146
  • Lowest poverty rate – 147
  • Most affordable housing – 148
  • Lowest divorce rate – 147

Newark, New Jersey, was rated the #1 Most Stressed city in America for 2017.
