Details about the new policy are being communicated to employees throughout June. Director of Human Resources Shanté Akafia notes, “The Executive Team took great care in crafting a policy that provides an opportunity for employees to represent their personal style in the workplace while also maintaining a professional appearance to our external and internal customers. We encourage employees to contact their director or a member of the Human Resources Department with any questions about the revised policy.”

The new policy provides guidelines for dress and appearance and is not meant to address all situations. This policy serves as a foundation for the City, allowing department directors to enact more stringent requirements in accordance to the nature of the work environment and/or the nature of work performed. If you have questions regarding the new policy, please contact your director or a member of Human Resources.
