Property Safety

Instructed by Officer Christopher Bianez, Plano Police Department (Crime Prevention Unit)

Implement these strategies to increase the safety of your property:

  • Create the best crime-fighting team.
  • Reinforce doors and windows to resist forced entry.
  • Prevent someone from walking into your residence with no forced entry.
  • Use a solid strategy to prevent or recover your property if it is stolen.

Smith System Defensive Driving Course 

Instructed by Clif Allman, Certified Smith System Instructor

Gain awareness of your personal driving habits and take action to correct bad habits. Receive an hour of individual attention while you are behind the wheel. Be involved in every phase of the training as you learn why accidents happen and how Smith System’s “5 Keys” can be used to avoid them. 

Upon completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Reduce accident potential.
  • Change fixed habits of viewing and reacting to the traffic picture.
  • Reduce anxiety and frustration associated with driving.
  • Lower vehicle maintenance expenses.
  • Minimize fuel consumption.

Harassment Prevention for Employees - State and Local Government Edition (mandatory 2018 training)

This year City Manager Bruce Glasscock’s required training for all employees focuses on prevention of sexual misconduct and harassment. The online course supports City Policy 219 (Harassment-Free Workplace), which offers zero tolerance for any form of harassment. Learn how to recognize and prevent harassment. Along with the course, he asks you to review the updated Harassment-Free Workplace Policy. If you have questions, contact your direct supervisor or Human Resources.

Pass the course by Monday, Dec. 31, 2018
