The Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE), Dallas Chapter, selected Plano’s lead engineer tops in the region. Congratulations to Caleb Thornhill, the City’s director of engineering, for being chosen by this premier organization for his commitment to the industry and his “contributions to improving the public’s welfare.”
Thornhill was hired in 2014 as the Community Investment Program (CIP) manager and named director in 2015. He’s a graduate of Texas A&M University and past-president of the TSPE Dallas Chapter (2015) for a 2-year term.
As City Council recognized him during the February 10 meeting, Caleb thoughtfully thanked his supervisor, Deputy City Manager Jack Carr, along with a supportive staff. “It’s all due to my staff and the engineering/facilities group who keep these buildings warm and cool in the winter and the summer. They keep our roads smooth and traffic flowing,” he said.
Caleb officially accepts the honor during the Annual Engineers Week Awards Luncheon at the Plano Event Center on February 18. This event coincides with National Engineers Week (February 16-22) which focuses on increasing interest in the career field.
