With just over a week left in the Challenge, some Team Plano members are determined to go out with a bang! The It’s Time Texas! Community Challenge (ITT) ends on March 1 and the City of Plano is currently in fourth place – behind Garland.
Cheers to a committed gang of runners who are responsible for adding 500 more points to Plano’s overall total. They accomplished this feat by completing a 5K Race in the Plano Half Marathon on February 15 at Oak Point Nature Preserve. The group is:
Sarah Miller, LibraryLibby Holtmann, LibraryAdam Bilodeau, Tech Services (his first 5K, yay!)James Bell, Tech ServicesLisa Henderson, City Secretary
This statewide competition encourages cities to support a greener and leaner lifestyle, a notion that City Manager Mark Israelson and Mayor Harry LaRosiliere adamantly support.
Internally, several departments and individuals are doing a great job of living healthier and racking up big points in the process….oh yeah, and earning CASH too. Libby, Lisa and the other runners already earned $50 wellness bucks for participating in the Cocoa Classic 5K in January.
Lisa said, “We’re on a roll!”
It’s not too late to sign up for the ITT Challenge or to add to our total by tracking all of your healthy activities. We want to win this thing!
