Use UHC Virtual Visits during Flu Season

Virtual Visits

It’s cold and flu time. If you’re not well, see a doctor on your time for an “anywhere care" option. When the doctor’s office closed hours ago, Virtual Visits come in handy. Chat with a doctor, by phone or video, 24/7.

How Virtual Visits work
Virtual Visits let you connect with a doctor on your computer or mobile device, usually in less than 20 minutes. Get a diagnosis and a prescription (if needed) sent to the pharmacy of your choice – without leaving the comfort of your home. Plus, with most UnitedHealthcare plans, the cost for a Virtual Visit/Teladoc is $5 – saving the time and money of an urgent care visit.

UHC Virtual Providers

Doctor on Demand™ will continue to participate in our provider network and will remain listed on the Virtual Visits page.

When to use Virtual Visits
For non-emergency symptoms, it’s a good idea to contact your primary care provider (PCP) first. After that, Virtual Visits are great for getting care on symptoms and conditions like:

  • Flu
  • Allergies or sinus problems
  • Bladder/urinary tract infection
  • Cough or sore throat
  • Diarrhea or stomachache
  • Fever
  • Migraine/headaches
  • Pinkeye
  • Rash

Virtual Visits may also help figure out whether you need more serious medical treatment. After an online medical call, it’s a good idea to let your PCP know about the incident for his or her records.

How to get started
Registering your Virtual Visits account is simple:

  1. Open the UnitedHealthcare® app and choose Find Urgent Care > Virtual Visits > Get Started.
  2. Or, sign in to myuhc.com® and choose Check out Virtual Visits > Get Started. From there, you’ll complete a brief medical history and be all set to go.

This cold and flu season, turn to Virtual Visits to see a doctor whenever you need one.
