Honor the Legacy at the Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Events


The theme for this year’s tribute Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is “Hindsight, Insight, Foresight.” Collin County organizers have planned inspiring events to bring all communities together:

2020 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Power Leadership Breakfast
Saturday, January 18, 8-10 a.m.
Collin College’s Plano Campus, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway

The breakfast features presentations and student performances sharing Dr. King’s message with a special address by Dr. Clay Brantley. Afterward visit the business and information expo in the atrium and meet local vendors and nonprofit organizations. Both are free and open to the public.

COME.Unity 2020 Love & Justice church service
Sunday, January 19, 6-8 p.m.
The Heights Church, 201 W. Renner Road, Richardson

Worship, pray and re-envision Dr. King’s dream of racial unity. Free childcare is provided through Kindergarten. Tickets: $5 in advance or $8 at the door.

Martin Luther King Jr., Diversity Celebration 2020 Plano ISD Proud
Thursday, January 23, 6:30-8:15 p.m.
Williams High School, 1717 17th Street

This annual celebration showcases student talent and diversity leadership in our schools and community. Awards will be presented to student winners of the Plano ISD 2019-20 MLK Art Contest and to winners of the 19th Annual Diversity Leadership Awards. See the winning artwork at the Cox Building through February 18.
