Two Plano planners will hold offices after recent American Planning Association – Texas Chapter elections. Congratulations to Christina and Esmeralda who are also members of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP):
Christina Sebastian, AICP was elected to the APA Texas Chapter secretary position. In fact this is her second term. She joined Plano in 2016 as a trail system planner. Now part of the comprehensive planning division, Christina is our senior mobility planner. She has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Software Engineering (University of Texas at Dallas) along with a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning (University of Texas at Arlington). Christina is a native Texan – Euless.
Esmeralda de la Cruz, AICP was elected APA Texas Chapter’s new North Central Section treasurer. Hired here in 2015 as a Senior Neighborhood Planner, she has over 13 years of industry experience with TxDOT, and the cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. Esmeralda currently works to support neighborhood leaders by managing programs designed to provide resources and assistance. She will soon transition into the area of Economic Development on September 30, where she is excited to work with new and existing Plano businesses.
The winning Texas Chapter and Section candidates begin their terms of office November 8.
