An enthusiastic group of MP3 Program graduates are still celebrating after earning their Certificate of Executive Development. With the 12-month training complete, the 2018 Management Preparation Program for Plano (MP3) class marked the occasion with a ceremonial lunch at the Plano Event Center on December 5.
City Manager Bruce Glasscock, supervisors and executive team members shared in the commencement and promised to continue mentoring all of the graduates:
Jessica Baca, Police Kellie Pendleton, Purchasing
Jennifer Knox-Walker, Legal Kenneth Schmidt, Planning
Marc Pate, Fire-Rescue Michelle Voirin, Legal
Before presenting the certificates, the city manager challenged the group saying, “What comes next is up to you, but taking advantage of the MP3 mentor circle is key to your success.” This is the fourteenth year for this award-winning professional development program, which means there is a wealth of knowledge and experience within the organization.
The next set of applicants, nine of them, begin their training in January. MP3 Director Dr. Tony Picchioni oversees the program. The curriculum covers managerial topics designed to hone professional skills and enhance leadership marketability like:
