2018 could be renamed the Year of SERVE at the City of Plano. Since City Manager Bruce Glasscock’s kickoff video in April, we’ve been on a journey to discover what each of the SERVE (Stewardship Engaged Respectful Visionary Excellence) values mean to us as members of Team Plano.
Over the last few months, we have spent time reflecting on what the first value, Stewardship, means beyond the organizational definition – “Mindful of resources in a consistent and transparent manner.” You participated in a photo campaign and a few video testimonials. Each time, sharing what Stewardship means to you, as well as why you choose to be a Team Plano member.
In addition, there were several roadshows conducted throughout the City. These outings wove the Stewardship value into the message of how we best manage resources through benefits and personal well-being. Below is a video recapping images submitted from Team Plano.
Beginning in 2019, the focus shifts to the second SERVE value, Engaged. There will be some familiar and some exciting new ways for us to share what this value means. Stay tuned for more details!
None of our SERVE values have “self” at the center. The purpose of this initiative is to foster an environment where all employees strive to contribute their best, commit to our SERVE values and are motivated to contribute to the organization’s success. We each are valued and all make a difference.
