Veterans Day in Plano…A Hero’s Snapshot

Victor Flores WEB

If you ever wondered what the face of a hero looks like, TeamPlano offers memorable glimpses of faces that fit the bill. In observance of Veterans Day 2018, we pause to recognize the men and women who serve in the military (past and present) – particularly those we know personally.

Team Plano’s own Judge Don Stevenson has led the charge for a number of years acknowledging employees and relatives for their military service. As the "keeper of the Team Plano Veterans roster," he spearheads the City’s campaign to honor the vets near to our hearts. Ken Phoenix created this year’s memorial poster displayed in the Municipal Center lobby.

From the days when the first war was fought on American soil to the present-day battles in foreign countries, brave soldiers have died and brave soldiers have lived to tell the tale. On Sunday, November 11, the nation pays tribute to the men and women who served in one or more of America’s 12 major wars – from the Revolutionary War to the Iraq War.

Watch the November 12 City Council meeting at 7 p.m. for our local remembrance.

In the meantime, view photos of our Team Plano heroes – some coworkers and some family members. Thank you to everyone who shared pictures.
