When you think of the word “Stewardship,” what comes to mind? These eleven letters together speak volumes! Does the organization’s definition, “mindful of resources in a consistent and transparent manner,” come to mind or something different perhaps (i.e. guarding, taking care of people or property)? It’s okay if you have other ideas of defining stewardship. City Manager Bruce Glasscock wants each component of our SERVE values to be more than words on a page.
Many Team Plano members shared pictures (selfies) of what Stewardship means. (See those pictures HERE.) Budget and Research staff and members of the Public Works department shared their concept of Stewardship:
Matt Yager – Budget and Research
Gerald Cosgrove – Director of Public Works
Henry Baker – Public Works
Robert Moore – Public Works
As we examine each SERVE (Stewardship Engaged Respectful Visionary Excellence) value in the coming months, we will go “beyond words” on a page to explore each concept. Once every employee is able to express and emulate these values, individuals looking to join Team Plano will want to come SERVE alongside us!
