A pricing error has been discovered with City health plan members who used Doctor on Demand. You may have recently received a statement indicating a $49 copay for each virtual visit with Doctor on Demand. That price is incorrect.
If you were charged $49 for using Doctor on Demand (DOD) services, you can contact them directly for an immediate refund. Call DOD at 800-997-6196 and inform the claims representative of the error. The company is aware of the issue and is working to fix the problem.
The City’s plan requires only a $5 copay to use Doctor on Demand.
As a reminder, Doctor on Demand provides access to quality doctors from your mobile device app or computer. Virtual visits are part of your health benefits which are administered by UnitedHealthcare. Charges for this service appear on Claim Summaries the same as any other medical treatment claim. You pay a $5 copay (if on the medical plan) or $40 copay (if not on the medical plan).
